The Prepared Home web site was started because I wanted to share what I have been learning in an attempt to help others. It then sort of grew and I realised that I needed some way of trying to make it run as a little business. I have tried to create a balance between offering information for free in what I have called articles and asking folk to pay for the most heavily researched reports.

There are pages of ideas and advice on various topics that I have compiled from the most reputable sources I could find. These articles are shorter than the reports but contain lots of useful information. There is so much information on them that some people would expect you to pay to view such pages.

How you can support this site

There is a books page that lists a few of more useful books that I have found. I have included links to Amazon so that if you follow the link to buy them I get a few pennies from Amazon. If you click on the Amazon image or the link at the end you will also go to Amazon and again I will get a few pennies from your sales. Remember though this does not make your books any dearer just gives me a few pennies from the sale.

The credits for helpers page has a few links on it to sites that will again give me a few pennies for anything you buy from other people. Don't forget though that the most helpful thing you can do is to buy a copy of one of the reports.These reports are unlike anything I have seen available elsewhere in the UK. For example the report I done on water includes information on a variety of topics like rainwater harvesting, advice on storing water even a small section on what is involved in sinking a well or borehole. It took quite some time to find out all these things and write them up so all the information related to the UK. After weeks of work compiling them I transferred them into pdf format so they could be downloaded and read easily. Given how many hours of research they will save you, these reports are excellent value for money.
